The 1st Filmmakers Frenzy is an intense weekend of shooting, acting, directing and editing. Teams of all ages and sizes compete to create unique and exciting short films all in a 72 hour time span.

This year the film sprint will take place on June 5 – 8 and is open to all willing participants nationwide.

To make things even more challenging, the competition will have certain guidelines each crew must abide by. We’ll provide, via email, a genre, character, prop, line of dialogue, or costume that must be utilized in each film. Each team’s will be different, thus ensuring that all productions occurred during the allotted weekend.

Your team will then have from Friday, June 5 at 5pm until midnight on Monday, June 8 to create their film.

Films must be postmarked by midnight on June 8. All shipping documents must be store generated. No home/office shipping documents or labels will be accepted. Only films that meet the deadline will be eligible for awards and screenings.

The top 10 films will be screened during the 2009 Red Bank International Film Festival being held in December.

The Filmmakers Frenzy is held by the Freedom Film Society. The Freedom Film Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts and art education through the presentation of alternative films and videos. In addition to the Red Bank International Film Festival, our presentations include small venue screenings and multimedia performances, featuring work by local, national and international artists. The organization is run by an entirely volunteer staff, many of whom are local artists and arts educators

The Filmmakers Frenzy competition was developed by these film and video professionals and educators in order to challenge, inspire and enable filmmakers of all ages and abilities to utilize their creative capabilities to their utmost potential.
